Your (clinical) practical year abroad

travel4med organizes your (clinical) practical year in Sri Lanka, Bali, and Nepal!

Important information

Quick facts: PJ abroad

All medical students in Germany are required to complete a practical year (PJ) totaling 48 weeks.

PJ tertials must be completed within the deadlines set by the respective university or state examination office.

16 weeks in internal medicine, 16 weeks in surgery, and 16 weeks in an elective rotation

The PJ abroad is recognized if the institutions meet certain criteria.

PJ tertials can be split at some universities. When splitting a tertial into two 8-week sections, additional attention must be paid to the regulations regarding vacation days.

For PJ stays abroad, the following applies to the LPA BaWü: No proof required for English as an official language, B2 for European languages, B1 for non-European languages. Native speakers need proof.
